Favorite Maternity Portraits from 2012 - Kansas City Maternity Photographer

Presenting a massive post of some of my favorite maternity portraits from 2012. I really love photographing pregnancy portraits and showing women how beautiful they are during this amazing but fleeting time in their lives. I work with women of all sizes and ages and shapes and take such great pride in creating gorgeous, emotional images for them.

Maternity photography really took off once a pregnant Demi Moore made such a splash with her Vanity Fair Cover, photographed by world-famous photographer Annie Liebowitz. After that many celebrities followed suit, like Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Eva Herzigova, Miranda Kerr, Claudia Schiffer, and more.

Since Demi's breakthrough cover, thousands of women have chosen to document their pregnancy through maternity portraits, and they have become a specialty of mine. I have photographed many, many women from all walks of life from all over the Kansas City area, and beyond.

These sessions involve the use of a large trampoline called a "tumble track" to create dramatic portraits of athletes like tumblers, dancers and gymnasts.

Too nude for Facebook [Kansas City Maternity Photographer]

I recently had an image removed by Facebook - it was flagged for nudity, although the image was of a pregnant woman, fully covered with filmy, slightly transparent fabric. It was the first time I've had an image removed by Facebook. If that one was flagged, I imagine this would be too! But it's just too beautiful not to share.

Playing Catch-Up [Kansas City Photographer]

I am over 100 sessions behind on this blog! Today I will play a bit of catch-up. Fall is approaching which means it will be prime time for getting family portraits done. Here at Center Stage we love both outdoor family portraits, and studio family portraits. When done well, studio portraits can be a classic choice for families wanting a portrait that will grace the walls of their home for many years.

I take great pride in my skill in photographing families in the studio. I strive to create images of families that are timeless, free of faddish trends, and flattering in lighting and posing. Studio photography done well is hard to find in the Kansas City area, and I am happy to offer this service to you.
