Classic Family Portraits in the Studio [Kansas City Photographer]

I so love creating timeless, classic portraits for families in my Kansas City metro-area studio. Of course outdoor portraits are wonderful and I love doing those, too, but when it comes to timeless portraits that could hang in your home for a lifetime, there's nothing like expertly-done studio portraits.

I have years of experience photographing families, and I am very knowledgeable about how to use posing to and lighting to make sure you look your best, no matter what you size or age. Family relationships are beautiful and I work hard to make sure Center Stage portraits reflect that. I also pride myself in technical excellence reflected through proper exposure, color, lighting and composition; and I work hard to offer you personal service that will make your experience with Center Stage a great one.

This family put a lot of thought into what they would be wearing, and I paired their choices with two traditional backdrops to create these classic family portraits. They were great to work with as well. Such beautiful portraits!

When was the last time you had family portraits done? What are you waiting for? Give me a call or send me an email and we will get the process started. I look forward to hearing form you!

Beautiful family, beautiful portraits - Kansas City Family Portrait Photographer

I photographed these beautiful kids back in July on a day so hot and humid we had to take a break while my lens de-fogged! I've photographed these girls many times and loved adding baby brother to the mix this time. Thanks Megan and Mark - I appreciate your choosing Center Stage for your portraits!

West Bottoms Ballerinas - Kansas City Family Photographer

I continue to be a good 20 sessions behind on my blog, so if you are interested in keeping up with Center Stage in a more timely way, please follow the studio on Facebook - the link is at the right.

Despite the intense heat this, I've actually had quite a few outdoor sessions this summer -thankfully photography has a way of hiding that the subjects were pretty hot during the session - I've been getting some amazing images. This session took place in the fabulous West Bottoms of Kansas City - a place seemingly made for photography. It's fun to do a session of contrasts down there - the sweetness of beautiful girls in ballet costumes against the rough brick, graffiti murals, bridges and fire escapes. This was a wonderful session, and I'm so pleased to show it off to you.

Sweetness - Kansas City Photographer

I have photographed this little one so many times in her 2.5 years, and it's always a pleasure. She says my name in the cutest way, which makes me love her even more. It means a lot to me when clients choose me again and again to photograph special times in their lives This family comes all the way from St. Joseph - Lindsey and David - I appreciate you!

Modern classics - Kansas City Portrait Photographer

I love modern "classic" portraiture. That is, posed in the studio with a modern twist. One of my favorite recent sessions, which took place in February, is of Anne's gorgeous girls.  Clothing choices can make or break a session, and Anne did a great job of choosing outfits that gave these portraits a definite "wow factor."  Thanks again, Anne, for choosing Center Stage.

Beautiful Girls - Kansas City Portrait Photographer

What a treat it is to photograph girls as stunning as these! Easy-going parents who appreciate my style, plus girls who were easy and fun to work with always equals a wonderful session.

Another Photogenic Family - Kansas City Portrait Photographer

My approach to family portraits in the studio is to create simple, classic images that won't look out of date in a few years - they will look as beautiful in your home now as they will in 2021. I also work very hard on posing and lighting that is flattering to the people I photograph - everyone wants to look great in their portraits, and I always keep that in mind.  I loved photographing this family - and I love the results of their session!

Family Holiday Portraits - Kansas City Photographer

Oh, I love these portraits of this family - more of the modern studio style that I'm moving almost exclusively to in 2011 for studio sessions.
