The beauty of Dance - Paige [Kansas City Dance Photography]

When you've got it, you should to show it off. And this girl has got "it." I absolutely love photographing dancers and athletes, and I don't believe in doing ordinary photography - at Center Stage, if it isn't "wow" then it isn't good enough. A few years ago I came up with the idea of photographing dancers, tumblers and gymnasts on a giant trampoline called a tumble track. I use special lighting to emphasize the drama of these movements, as well as the athletic bodies these kids have (and the trampoline helps them show off their skills). The sessions are a lot of fun for the kids, and the results are amazing. These sessions are definitely mom pleasers!

I will confess - this It Girl happens to by my own daughter - we make a great team and I love to capture her beauty and athletic abilities through portraits.

Favorite Maternity Portraits from 2012 - Kansas City Maternity Photographer

Presenting a massive post of some of my favorite maternity portraits from 2012. I really love photographing pregnancy portraits and showing women how beautiful they are during this amazing but fleeting time in their lives. I work with women of all sizes and ages and shapes and take such great pride in creating gorgeous, emotional images for them.

Maternity photography really took off once a pregnant Demi Moore made such a splash with her Vanity Fair Cover, photographed by world-famous photographer Annie Liebowitz. After that many celebrities followed suit, like Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Eva Herzigova, Miranda Kerr, Claudia Schiffer, and more.

Since Demi's breakthrough cover, thousands of women have chosen to document their pregnancy through maternity portraits, and they have become a specialty of mine. I have photographed many, many women from all walks of life from all over the Kansas City area, and beyond.

Too nude for Facebook [Kansas City Maternity Photographer]

I recently had an image removed by Facebook - it was flagged for nudity, although the image was of a pregnant woman, fully covered with filmy, slightly transparent fabric. It was the first time I've had an image removed by Facebook. If that one was flagged, I imagine this would be too! But it's just too beautiful not to share.
